REAL AUTHORITY 4-23-18
The Bible word for authority is freedom to decide or act without hindrance. It is the power to do what you have been called to do. It is that which is delegated to you and authorize for you to complete. It is an action on behalf of God. You have freedom and permission to act in Gods name. Jesus says that authority is from the heart. It does not come from credentials, authority is from the father. This Authority is given to us by Jesus from the father and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Jesus' last words on this earth were to release the authority to his believers. The Lord sat down because he has passed the torch to his disciples. They have passed it to us. The Holy Spirit has confirmed and empowered us. It includes both physical and mental power; the ability or strength with which one is endued. It is the power of authority (influence).
Prov 29:2 When the [uncompromisingly] righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh. AMP
Matt 7:29 For He was teaching as One Who had [and was] authority, and not as [did] the scribes. AMP

Mark 10:42 Jesus got them together to settle things down. "You've observed how godless rulers throw their weight around," he said, "and when people get a little power how quickly it goes to their heads.
43 It's not going to be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great must become a servant.
44 Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave.
45 That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served and then to give away his life in exchange for many who are held hostage." MSG

Mark 10:42 Jesus gathered them all together and said to them, Those recognized as rulers of the people and those who are in top leadership positions rule oppressively over their subjects, but this is not the example you are to follow.
43You are to lead by a different model. If you want to be the greatest one, then live as one called to serve others.
44The path to promotion and prominence comes by having the heart of a bond-slave who serves everyone.
45For even the Son of Man did not come expecting to be served by everyone, but to serve everyone, and to give his life as the ransom price in exchange for the salvation of many. TPT
2 Cor 1:24 We're not in charge of how you live out the faith, looking over your shoulders, suspiciously critical. We're partners, working alongside you, joyfully expectant. I know that you stand by your own faith, not by ours. MSG

2 Corinthians 1:24 But I dont want to imply that as leaders we coerce you or somehow want to rule over your faith. Instead, we are your partners who are called to increase your joy. And we know that you already stand firm because of your strong faith. TPT
Matt 21:23 And when He entered the sacred enclosure of the temple, the chief priests and elders of the people came up to Him as He was teaching and said, By what power of authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this power of authority?
24 Jesus answered them, I also will ask you a question, and if you give Me the answer, then I also will tell you by what power of authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John from where was it? From heaven or from men? And they reasoned and argued with one another, If we say, From heaven, He will ask us, Why then did you not believe him?
26 But if we say, From men we are afraid of and must reckon with the multitude, for they all regard John as a prophet.
27 So they answered Jesus, We do not know. And He said to them, Neither will I tell you by what power of authority I do these things. AMP

Matt 21:23 Then he was back in the Temple, teaching. The high priests and leaders of the people came up and demanded, "Show us your credentials. Who authorized you to teach here?"
24 Jesus responded, "First let me ask you a question. You answer my question and I'll answer yours.
25 About the baptism of John who authorized it: heaven or humans?"
They were on the spot and knew it. They pulled back into a huddle and whispered, "If we say 'heaven,' he'll ask us why we didn't believe him;
26 if we say 'humans,' we're up against it with the people because they all hold John up as a prophet."
27 They decided to concede that round to Jesus. "We don't know," they answered. Jesus said, "Then neither will I answer your question. MSG
Matthew 23:2 The religious scholars and the Pharisees sit on Moses throne as the authorized interpreters of the Law.
3So listen and follow what they teach, but dont do what they do, for they tell you one thing and do another.
4They tie on your backs an oppressive burden of religious obligations and insist that you carry it, but will never lift a finger to help ease your load.
5Everything they do is done for show and to be noticed by others. They want to be seen as holy, so they wear oversized prayer boxes on their arms and foreheads with Scriptures inside, and wear extra-long tassels on their outer garments.
6They crave the seats of highest honor at banquets and in their meeting places.
7And how they love to be admired by men with their titles of respect, aspiring to be recognized in public and have others call them Reverend. TPT
Matt 23:8 "Don't let people do that to you, put you on a pedestal like that. You all have a single Teacher, and you are all classmates.
9 Don't set people up as experts over your life, letting them tell you what to do. Save that authority for God; let him tell you what to do. No one else should carry the title of 'Father'; you have only one Father, and he's in heaven.
10 And don't let people maneuver you into taking charge of them. There is only one Life-Leader for you and them Christ.
11 "Do you want to stand out? Then step down. Be a servant.
12 If you puff yourself up, you'll get the wind knocked out of you. But if you're content to simply be yourself, your life will count for plenty. MSG
Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. KJV
Matthew 28:18Then Jesus came close to them and said, All the authority of the universe has been given to me.
19Now go in my authority and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
20And teach them to faithfully follow[ all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age. TPT
Mark 6:7 And He called to Him the Twelve [apostles] and began to send them out [as His ambassadors] two by two and gave them authority and power over the unclean spirits. AMP
Luke 10:19 Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. AMP
Luke 10:9 Then heal the sick, and tell them all, Gods kingdom realm has arrived and is now within your reach! TPT

John 1:12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name AMP

Matt 8:23 Then he got in the boat, his disciples with him.
24 The next thing they knew, they were in a severe storm. Waves were crashing into the boat and he was sound asleep!
25 They roused him, pleading, "Master, save us! We're going down!"
26 Jesus reprimanded them. "Why are you such cowards, such faint-hearts?" Then he stood up and told the wind to be silent, the sea to quiet down: "Silence!" The sea became smooth as glass.
27 The men rubbed their eyes, astonished. "What's going on here? Wind and sea come to heel at his command!" MSG
John 16:13 But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].
14 He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.
15 Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you. AMP

John 16:13 But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won't draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said.
14 He will honor me; he will take from me and deliver it to you.
15 Everything the Father has is also mine. That is why I've said, 'He takes from me and delivers to you.'

John 16:15 Everything that belongs to the Father belongs to methats why I say that the Divine Encourager will receive what is mine and reveal it to you.
John 17:2 [Just as] You have granted Him power and authority over all flesh (all humankind), [now glorify Him] so that He may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him. AMP

Mark 16:17 And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;
18 They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and He sat down at the right hand of God. AMP

Mark 16:17 And these miracle signs will accompany those who believe: They will drive out demons in the power of my name. They will speak in tongues.
18They will be supernaturally protected from snakes and from drinking anything poisonous. And they will lay hands on the sick and heal them.
19After saying these things, Jesus was lifted up into heaven and sat down at the place of honor at the right hand of God! TPT
Mark 16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Amen (so be it). AMP
