CROSS FRESH AND NEW

VIDEO WHAT DOES THE CROSS MEAN TO YOU 2

The word "excruciating" comes from the Latin, excruciatus, or "out of the cross." In every true sense, Jesus's death was that, and so much more.

Luke 23:34, Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. KJV

Luke 23:43, Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.

Luke 23:43 And He answered him, Truly I tell you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise. AMP

John 19:26-27, Woman, behold, your son! 27 Then He *said to the disciple, Behold, your mother!

John 19:26 Jesus saw his mother and the disciple he loved standing near her. He said to his mother, "Woman, here is your son."

27 Then to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that moment the disciple accepted her as his own mother. MSG

Matt. 27:46, ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI? that is, MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?

Matt 27:46 And about the ninth hour (three o'clock) Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is, My God, My God, why have You abandoned Me [leaving Me helpless, forsaking and failing Me in My need]? AMP

John 19:28, I am thirsty.

John 19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished (ended), said in fulfillment of the Scripture, I thirst. AMP

John 19:30, It is finished!

John 19:30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. AMP

Luke 23:46, Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.

Luke 23:46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit! And with these words, He expired. AMP

REVISIT John 19:28, I am thirsty.

John 19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished (ended), said in fulfillment of the Scripture, I thirst. AMP

Matt 26:29 I say to you, I shall not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it with you new and of superior quality in My Father's kingdom. AMP

John 7:37 Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!

38 He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.

39 But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor). AMP

CROSS BROUGHT TO PASS

Col 1:20 Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe people and things, animals and atoms get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross. MSG

Rom 6:6 We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin.

7 For when a man dies, he is freed (loosed, delivered) from [the power of] sin [among men].

8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

9 Because we know that Christ (the Anointed One), being once raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him.

10 For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him].

11 Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus. AMP

↕↕↕

Rom 6:6 Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life no longer at sin's every beck and call! What we believe is this:

8 If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection.

9 We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word.

10 When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us.

11 From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That's what Jesus did. MSG

Eph 2:16 Christ brought us together through his death on the Cross. The Cross got us to embrace, and that was the end of the hostility. MSG

Col 2:14 Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.

15 [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]. AMP ↕↕↕

Col 2:14 the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ's Cross.

15 He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets. MSG

ONE TRANSLATION NO LONGER THERE

Heb 2:14Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the physical nature of human beings], He [Himself] in a similar manner partook of the same [nature], that by [going through] death He might bring to nought and make of no effect him who had the power of death that is, the devil AMP

NO EFFECT- entirely idle (useless), abolish, inoperative:, to cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, to deprive of its strength, make barren, to deprive of force, influence, power

Rom 7:4 Likewise, my brethren, you have undergone death as to the Law through the [crucified] body of Christ, so that now you may belong to Another, to Him Who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God.

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. AMP CRUCIFIED-destroy its power utterly

Gal 5:24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. AMP

Gal 6:14 But far be it from me to glory [in anything or anyone] except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) through Whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world! AMP

↕↕↕

Gal 6:14 For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate. MSG

VIDEO STING

1Cor 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. KJV MORE THAN CONQUERORS If a Bee has to pull it's stinger and venom sack out of it's body in it victim. This kills the Bee When the sting, their stingers get pulled out, as well as their internal organs.

Acts 26:14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice in the Hebrew tongue saying to me, Saul, Saul, why do you continue to persecute Me [to harass and trouble and molest Me]? It is dangerous and turns out badly for you to keep kicking against the goads [to keep offering vain and perilous resistance]. AMP

1 Peter 2:24 He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed. AMP

↕↕↕

1 Peter 2:24He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing.

Heb 13:10 The altar from which God gives us the gift of himself is not for exploitation by insiders who grab and loot.

11 In the old system, the animals are killed and the bodies disposed of outside the camp. The blood is then brought inside to the altar as a sacrifice for sin.

12 It's the same with Jesus. He was crucified outside the city gates that is where he poured out the sacrificial blood that was brought to God's altar to cleanse his people. MSG

Gal 3:13 Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the Cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse .MSG BECAME SIN

Heb 10:10 And in accordance with this will [of God], we have been made holy (consecrated and sanctified) through the offering made once for all of the body of Jesus Christ (the Anointed One).

Matt 27:50 And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit.

51 And at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split.

52 The tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep in death were raised [to life];

53 And coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

54 When the centurion and those who were with him keeping watch over Jesus observed the earthquake and all that was happening, they were terribly frightened and filled with awe, and said, Truly this was God's Son! AMP

TAKE UP YOUR CROSS Matt 10:38 And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also] is not worthy of Me. AMP

TAKE UP OR CARRY- a prolonged form of a primary verb, which is use only as an alternate in certain tenses; to take (in very many applications, literally and figuratively [properly objective or active, to get hold of; whereas is rather subjective or passive, to have offered to one; while more violent, to seize or remove - accept, be amazed, assay, attain, bring, when I call, catch, come on, have, hold, obtain, receive TAKE- to take with the hand, lay hold of, take in order to carry away: without the notion of violence, to take what is one's own, to take to oneself, to make one's own to claim, procure, for oneself: to seize, lay hold of, apprehend:

BEAR-to lift, declare, sustain, receive in the presence of Gentiles by preaching to carry the knowledge of my name to the Gentiles,

Matt 10:39 Whoever finds his [lower] life will lose it [the higher life], and whoever loses his [lower] life on My account will find it [the higher life]. AMP

Matt 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also].

25 For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].

26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life [his blessed life in the kingdom of God]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] life [in the kingdom of God]? AMP

Mark 8:34 And Jesus called [to Him] the throng with His disciples and said to them, If anyone intends to come after Me, let him deny himself [forget, ignore, disown, and lose sight of himself and his own interests] and take up his cross, and [joining Me as a disciple and siding with My party] follow with Me [continually, cleaving steadfastly to Me].

35 For whoever wants to save his [higher, spiritual, eternal] life, will lose it [the lower, natural, temporal life which is lived only on earth]; and whoever gives up his life [which is lived only on earth] for My sake and the Gospel's will save it [his higher, spiritual life in the eternal kingdom of God].

36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life [in the eternal kingdom of God]?

37 For what can a man give as an exchange (a compensation, a ransom, in return) for his [blessed] life [in the eternal kingdom of God]? AMP

Luke 9:23 And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].

24 For whoever would preserve his life and save it will lose and destroy it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he will preserve and save it [from the penalty of eternal death].

25 For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself? AMP

Luke 14:27 Whoever does not persevere and carry his own cross and come after (follow) Me cannot be My disciple. AMP

1 Cor 1:17 For Christ (the Messiah) sent me out not to baptize but [to evangelize by] preaching the glad tidings (the Gospel), and that not with verbal eloquence, lest the cross of Christ should be deprived of force and emptied of its power and rendered vain (fruitless, void of value, and of no effect).

18 For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God.

19 For it is written, I will baffle and render useless and destroy the learning of the learned and the philosophy of the philosophers and the cleverness of the clever and the discernment of the discerning; I will frustrate and nullify [them] and bring [them] to nothing. AMP

↕↕↕

1 Cor 1:17 God didn't send me out to collect a following for myself, but to preach the Message of what he has done, collecting a following for him. And he didn't send me to do it with a lot of fancy rhetoric of my own, lest the powerful action at the center Christ on the Cross be trivialized into mere words.

18 The Message that points to Christ on the Cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation it makes perfect sense. This is the way God works, and most powerfully as it turns out.
