MERCY 5-29-2020

Mercy- In our Lords home and lives towards each other. Mercy includes forgiveness. Goodwill and kindness. Kindness towards people. It also means love that responses to the human need in an unexpected way. Mercy is a quality of God and one that God requires of his people. Tender mercy is compassion. God's mercy extends itself to all men. Jesus is the mercy seat forever. Mercy ends the curse even generational curses because of the blood of Jesus.

Gods mercy is so great that you may sooner drain the sea of its water or deprived the sun of its light or make space too narrow then to diminish the mercy of God Charles Spurgeon

9 God is good to one and all; everything he does is suffused with grace. MSG

Rom 9:15 For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion (pity) on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then [God's gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God's mercy. [It depends not on one's own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God's having mercy on him.] AMP

↕↕↕

Rom 9:15 God told Moses, "I'm in charge of mercy. I'm in charge of compassion."

16 Compassion doesn't originate in our bleeding hearts or moral sweat, but in God's mercy.  MSG

↕↕↕

ROM 9:15  He had every right to say to Moses: I will be merciful to whomever I choose and I will show compassion to whomever I wish.

16 Again, this proves that Gods choice doesnt depend on how badly someone wants it or tries to earn it, but it depends on Gods kindness and mercy.  TPT

MATT 12:7 If only you could learn the meaning of the words I want compassion more than a sacrifice, you wouldnt be condemning my innocent disciples.

For the Son of Man exercises his lordship over the Sabbath."

Then Jesus left them and went into the synagogue where

10 he encountered a man who had an atrophied, paralyzed hand. The fault-finding Pharisees asked Jesus, Is it permissible to perform a work of healing on the Sabbath, when no one is supposed to work? They only asked him this question because they hoped to accuse him of breaking the Jewish laws.

11 He answered them, If any of you had a lamb that fell into a ditch on the Sabbath, wouldnt you reach out your hand and lift it out?

12 Isnt a man much more valuable than a lamb? So of course, its always proper to do miracles, even on the Sabbath.

13 Then he turned to the man and said, Hold out your hand! And as he stretched it out, it was restored, exactly like the other.

14 Immediately the Pharisees went out and started to scheme about how they would do away with him.  TPT

MT 23:23 Great sorrow awaits you religious scholars and Phariseesfrauds and pretenders! For you are obsessed with peripheral issues, like insisting on paying meticulous tithes on the smallest herbs that grow in your gardens. These matters are fine, yet you ignore the most important duty of all: to walk in the love of God, to display mercy to others, and to live with integrity. Readjust your values and place first things first. TPT

Heb 2:17 So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every respect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement and propitiation for the people's sins.

18 For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].  AMP

 ↕↕↕

HEB 2:17 This is why he had to be a Man and take hold of our humanity in every way. He made us his brothers and sisters and became our merciful and faithful King-Priestbefore God; as the One who removed our sins to make us one with him.

18 He suffered and endured every test and temptation, so that he can help us every time we pass through the ordeals of life. TPT

Heb 12:24 And to Jesus, the Mediator (Go-between, Agent) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks [of mercy], a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel [which cried out for vengeance]. AMP

↕↕↕

HEB 12:24 And we have come to Jesus who established a new covenant with his blood sprinkled upon the mercy seat; blood that continues to speak from heaven, forgiveness, a better message than Abels blood that cries from the earth, justice. TPT

ROM 3:24 Yet through his powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away his righteousness. His giftof love and favor now cascades over us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One, has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin!

25 Jesus God-given destinywas to be the sacrifice to take away sins, and now he is our mercy seatbecause of his death on the cross. We come to him for mercy, for God has made a provision for us to be forgiven by faith in the sacred blood of Jesus. This is the perfect demonstration of Gods justice, because until now, he had been so patientholding back his justice out of his tolerance for us. So he covered overthe sins of those who lived prior to Jesus sacrifice.

26 And when the season of tolerance came to an end, there was only one possible way for God to give away his righteousness and still be true to both his justice and his mercyto offer up his own Son. So now, because we stand on the faithfulness of Jesus, God declares us righteous in his eyes! TPT

For Yahweh is the Lord of justice, faithful to keep his promises. Overwhelmed with bliss are all who will entwine their hearts in him, waiting for him to help them. TPT

Eph 2:4 But God so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,

5 Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation).

6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).  AMP

↕↕↕

Eph 2:4 Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love,

5 he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us!

6 Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah. MSG

↕↕↕

EPH 2:4But God still loved us with such great love. He is so rich in compassion and mercy.

Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace!

He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are now co-seatedas one with Christ! TPT

Heb 4:16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].
