HOLY SPIRIT AND THE CHURCH 10-4-2020

Jesus left us here in good hands. Every member of the body of Christ is in the care of  and leader ship of the Holy Spirit. We are to be baptized which means to be totally immersed and submerged in the Holy Spirit. In Jesus baptism it was necessary that he be filled with the Holy Spirit. There are many who think the Holy Spirit is unnecessary or even optional in our Christian life. Jesus defeated the devil because he was empowered by the Holy Spirit. Jesus describes the Holy Spirit as rivers of living water. The church could not fulfill its purpose till the Holy Spirit came to empower them. God is calling us to be ever filled, to a refreshment, a renewed empowerment from the Holy Spirit.

MATT 3:11 Those who repent I baptize with water, but there is coming a Man after me who is more powerful than I am. In fact, Im not even worthy enough to pick up his sandals. He will submerge you into union with the Spirit of Holiness and with a raging fire!TPT

Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to take off or carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. AMP

MARK 1:10 The moment Jesus rose up out of the water, John saw the heavenly realm split open, and the Holy Spirit descended like a dove and rested upon him. TPT

Luke 4:1 THEN JESUS, full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led in [by] the [Holy] Spirit. AMP

Luke 4:14 Then Jesus went back full of and under the power of the [Holy] Spirit into Galilee, and the fame of Him spread through the whole region round about. AMP

↕↕↕

LUKE 4:14 Then Jesus, armed with the Holy Spirits power, returned to Galilee, and his fame spread throughout the region.  TPT

Acts 1:4 As they met and ate meals together, he told them that they were on no account to leave Jerusalem but "must wait for what the Father promised: the promise you heard from me.

5 John baptized in water; you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit. And soon."

6 When they were together for the last time they asked, "Master, are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel now? Is this the time?"

7 He told them, "You don't get to know the time. Timing is the Father's business.

8 What you'll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world."  MSG

Acts 2:1-4 When the Feast of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.

2 Without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, gale force no one could tell where it came from. It filled the whole building.

3 Then, like a wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks,

4 and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the Spirit prompted them.  MSG

 ↕↕↕

ACTS 2:1-4 On the day Pentecost was being fulfilled, all the disciples were gathered in one place.

Suddenly they heard the sound of a violent blast of windrushing into the housefrom out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear!

Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes. It separated into tongues of fire that engulfedeach one of them.

They were all filled and equippedwith the Holy Spirit and were inspiredto speak in tonguesempowered by the Spirit to speak in languages they had never learned! TPT

Acts 2:33 Then, raised to the heights at the right hand of God and receiving the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he poured out the Spirit he had just received. That is what you see and hear.  MSG

ACT 2:38-39 Peter replied, Repent and return to God, and each one of you must be baptized in the name of Jesus, the Anointed One, to have your sins removed. Then you may take hold of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For Gods promise of the Holy Spirit is for youand your families, for those yet to be bornand for everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself. TPT

LUKE 11:13  If imperfect parents know how to lovingly take care of their children and give them what they need, how much more will the perfect heavenly Father give the Holy Spirits fullness when his children ask him.   TPT

Rom 5:5 In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!  MSG

John 14:26 The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you.

 MSG ↕↕↕

JOHN 14:26 But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like me who sets you free, he will teach you all things in my name. And he will inspire you to remember every word that Ive told you.   TPT

ACTS 4:31-32 At that moment the earth shook beneath them, causing the building they were in to tremble. Each one of them was filled with the Holy Spirit, and they proclaimed the word of God with unrestrained boldness.

32 All the believers were one in mind and heart. Selfishness was not a part of their community, for they shared everything they had with one another. TPT

ACTS 9:31  After this, the church all over Judea, Galilee, and Samaria experienced a season of peace. The congregations grew larger and larger, with the believers being empowered and encouraged by the Holy Spirit. They worshiped God in wonder and awe, and walked in the fear of the Lord. TPT

RO 8:4-6 So now every righteous requirement of the law can be fulfilled through the Anointed One living his life in us. And we are free to live, not according to our flesh, but by the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit!

Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities. For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.TPT

RO 8:9 But when the Spirit of Christ empowers your life, you are not dominated by the flesh but by the Spirit. And if you are not joined to the Spirit of the Anointed One, you are not of him TPT

Rom 8:13 For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.  AMP

2 Cor 3:6  [It is He] Who has qualified us [making us to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as ministers and dispensers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not [ministers] of the letter (of legally written code) but of the Spirit; for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive.  AMP

Gal 3:3 Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun [your new life spiritually] with the [Holy] Spirit, are you now reaching perfection [by dependence] on the flesh?

4 Have you suffered so many things and experienced so much all for nothing (to no purpose) if it really is to no purpose and in vain?

5 Then does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] what the Law demands, or because of your believing in and adhering to and trusting in and relying on the message that you heard?  AMP

Gal 5:16 But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).  AMP

Gal 5:25 If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]  AMP

ROM 8:26-27 And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we dont even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercedeon our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighstoo deep for words.

27 God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with Gods plan and our destiny.  TPT

RO 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of rules about food and drink, but is in the realm of the Holy Spirit, filled with righteousness, peace, and joy.  TPT

For God intended that your faith not be established on mans wisdom but by trusting in his almighty power. TPT

1 COR 2:9-13This is why the Scriptures say: Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imaginethese are the many things God has in store for all his lovers.

10 But God now unveils these profound realities to us by the Spirit. Yes, he has revealed to us his inmost heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who constantly explores all things.

11 After all, who can really see into a persons heart and know his hidden impulses except for that persons spirit? So it is with God. His thoughts and secrets are only fully understood by his Spirit, the Spirit of God.

12 For we did not receive the spirit of this world system but the Spirit of God, so that we might come to understand and experience all that grace has lavished upon us.

13 And wearticulate these realities with the words imparted to us by the Spirit and not with the words taught by human wisdom. We join together Spirit-revealed truths with Spirit-revealed words. TPT

1 Cor 6:19 Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, AMP

↕↕↕

1 Cor 12:4 God's various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit.

5 God's various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit.  MSG

1 COR 12:11 Remember, it is the same Holy Spirit who distributes, activates, and operates these different gifts as he chooses for each believer.[ TPT

2 Cor 1:22 [He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise]. AMP

2 Cor 5:5 Now He Who has fashioned us [preparing and making us fit] for this very thing is God, Who also has given us the [Holy] Spirit as a guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise]. AMP

Eph 1:3 May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!  AMP

Luke 12:10-12 "If you bad-mouth the Son of Man out of misunderstanding or ignorance, that can be overlooked. But if you're knowingly attacking God himself, taking aim at the Holy Spirit, that won't be overlooked.

11 "When they drag you into their meeting places, or into police courts and before judges, don't worry about defending yourselves what you'll say or how you'll say it.

12 The right words will be there. The Holy Spirit will give you the right words when the time comes."  MSG

Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God's own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin).  AMP

Matt 9:37-38 Then He said to His disciples, The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few.

38 So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest.   AMP  ↕↕↕

MATT 9:37-38 He turned to his disciples and said, The harvest is huge and ripe! But there are not enough harvesters to bring it all in.

38 As you go, plead with the Owner of the Harvest to thrust out many more reapers to harvest his grain! TPT

Eph 3:16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].  AMP

ROM 15:13   Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! TPT
