THIRD DAY CHURCH by Mary Dorian 10-30-2020

ACTS 2:1-8 On the day Pentecost was being fulfilled, all the disciples were gathered in one place.

Suddenly they heard the sound of a violent blast of windrushing into the housefrom out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear!

Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes. It separated into tongues of fire that engulfedeach one of them.

They were all filled and equippedwith the Holy Spirit and were inspired to speak in tonguesempowered by the Spirit to speak in languages they had never learned!

Now, at that time there were Jewish worshiperswho had emigrated from many different lands to live in Jerusalem.

When the peopleof the city heard the roaring sound, crowds came running to where it was coming from, stunned over what was happening, because each one could hear the disciples speaking in his or her own language.

Bewildered, they said to one another, Arent these all Galileans?

So how is it that we hear them speaking in our own languages?  TPT

2 Tim 1:6-7  And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed keep that ablaze!

7 God doesn't want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible.  MSG

2Timothy 1:6-7 Im writing to encourage you to fan into a flame and rekindle[a] the fire of the spiritual gift God imparted to you when I laid my hands upon you.

For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.  TPT

1 Chron 22:13 That's what will make you successful, following the directions and doing the things that God commanded Moses for Israel. Courage! Take charge! Don't be timid; don't hold back.   MSG

Isa 7:13  So Isaiah told him, "Then listen to this, government of David! It's bad enough that you make people tired with your pious, timid hypocrisies, but now you're making God tired.

14 So the Master is going to give you a sign anyway. Watch for this: A girl who is presently a virgin will get pregnant. She'll bear a son and name him Immanuel (God-With-Us).

15 By the time the child is twelve years old, able to make moral decisions,  MSG

Hag 2:5 'Put into action the word I covenanted with you when you left Egypt. I'm living and breathing among you right now. Don't be timid. Don't hold back.'   MSG

Rom 8:15  This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike "What's next, Papa?"

16 God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children.

17 And we know we are going to get what's coming to us an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we're certainly going to go through the good times with him!  MSG

Acts 2:43 And a sense of awe (reverential fear) came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were performed through the apostles (the special messengers).

44 And all who believed (who adhered to and trusted in and relied on Jesus Christ) were united and [together] they had everything in common;

45 And they sold their possessions (both their landed property and their movable goods) and distributed the price among all, according as any had need.

46 And day after day they regularly assembled in the temple with united purpose, and in their homes they broke bread [including the Lord's Supper]. They partook of their food with gladness and simplicity and generous hearts,

47 Constantly praising God and being in favor and goodwill with all the people; and the Lord kept adding [to their number] daily those who were being saved [from spiritual death].  AMP

↕↕↕

Acts 2:43  Everyone around was in awe all those wonders and signs done through the apostles!

44 And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common.

45 They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person's need was met.

46 They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful,

47 as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.  MSG

Acts 5:12  Now by the hands of the apostles (special messengers) numerous and startling signs and wonders were being performed among the people. And by common consent they all met together [at the temple] in the covered porch (walk) called Solomon's.

13 And none of those who were not of their number dared to join and associate with them, but the people held them in high regard and praised and made much of them.

14 More and more there were being added to the Lord those who believed [those who acknowledged Jesus as their Savior and devoted themselves to Him joined and gathered with them], crowds both of men and of women,

15 So that they [even] kept carrying out the sick into the streets and placing them on couches and sleeping pads, [in the hope] that as Peter passed by, at least his shadow might fall on some of them.

16 And the people gathered also from the towns and hamlets around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those troubled with foul spirits, and they were all cured.  AMP

Acts 5:12 Through the work of the apostles, many God-signs were set up among the people, many wonderful things done. They all met regularly and in remarkable harmony on the Temple porch named after Solomon.

13 But even though people admired them a lot, outsiders were wary about joining them. 14 On the other hand, those who put their trust in the Master were added right and left, men and women both.

15 They even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on stretchers and bedrolls, hoping they would be touched by Peter's shadow when he walked by.

16 They came from the villages surrounding Jerusalem, throngs of them, bringing the sick and bedeviled. And they all were healed.

17 Provoked mightily by all this, the Chief Priest and those on his side, mainly the sect of Sadducees, went into action,

18 arrested the apostles, and put them in the town jail. 19 But during the night an angel of God opened the jailhouse door and led them out. MSG

2 Cor 12:12 Indeed, the signs that indicate a [genuine] apostle were performed among you fully and most patiently in miracles and wonders and mighty works.  AMP

2 Cor 2:12 When I arrived in Troas to proclaim the Message of the Messiah, I found the place wide open: God had opened the door; all I had to do was walk through it.  MSG

Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to take off or carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.  AMP

Luke12:49 I have come to set the earth on fire. And how I long for every heart to be already ablaze with this fiery passion for God! TPT

Heb1:7 And about his angels he says, I make my angels swift winds, and my ministersfiery flames.  TPT

↕↕↕

Heb 1:7 Regarding angels he says, The messengers are winds, the servants are tongues of fire.  MSG

Heb 12:29 For our God is a holy, devouring fire! TPT

Eph 5:27 That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless].  AMP

↕↕↕

Eph 5:27 All that he does in us is designed to make us a mature church for his pleasure, until we become a source of praise to himglorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw TPT

2 Peter 3:14 So, my beloved friends, with all that you have to look forward to, may you be eager to be found living pure lives when you come into his presence, without blemish and filled with peace.  TPT

Psalm 133:1-3 How truly wonderful and delightful to see brothers and sisters living together in sweet unity!
Its as precious as the sacred scented oil flowing from the head of the high priest Aaron, dripping down upon his beard and running all the way down to the hem of his priestly robes.
This heavenly harmony can be compared to the dew dripping down from the skies upon Mount Hermon, refreshing the mountain slopes of Israel. For from this realm of sweet harmony God will release his eternal blessing, the promise of life forever! TPT

1 Cor 12:12 You can easily enough see how this kind of thing works by looking no further than your own body. Your body has many parts limbs, organs, cells but no matter how many parts you can name, you're still one body. It's exactly the same with Christ.

13 By means of his one Spirit, we all said good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. (This is what we proclaimed in word and action when we were baptized.) Each of us is now a part of his resurrection body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain his Spirit where we all come to drink. The old labels we once used to identify ourselves labels like Jew or Greek, slave or free are no longer useful. We need something larger, more comprehensive.

14 I want you to think about how all this makes you more significant, not less. A body isn't just a single part blown up into something huge. It's all the different-but-similar parts arranged and functioning together.  MSG

 ↕↕↕

1Corth 12:12-14 Just as the human body is one, though it has many parts that together form one body, so too is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit we all were immersed and mingled into one single body. And no matter our statuswhether we are Jews or non-Jews, oppressed or freewe are all privileged to drink deeply of the same Holy Spirit.

14 In fact, the human body is not one single part but rather many parts mingled into one.

 TPT

Eph 2:14  The Messiah has made things up between us so that we're now together on this, both non-Jewish outsiders and Jewish insiders. He tore down the wall we used to keep each other at a distance.  MSG

1 Chron 22:19 your part is to give yourselves, heart and soul, to praying to your God. So get moving build the sacred house of worship to God! Then bring the Chest of the Covenant of God and all the holy furnishings for the worship of God into the sanctuary built in honor of God."   MSG

Eph 4:11-16 filled earth with his gifts. He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher

12 to train Christians in skilled servant work, working within Christ's body, the church,

13 until we're all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God's Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.

14 No prolonged infancies among us, please. We'll not tolerate babes in the woods, small children who are an easy mark for impostors.

15 God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do.

16 He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.  MSG

 ↕↕↕

Eph 4:11-16 And he has appointed some with grace to be apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with grace to be evangelists, and some with grace to be pastors, and some with grace to be teachers.

12 And their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ. 13 These grace ministries will function until we all attain oneness in the faith, until we all experience the fullness of what it means to know the Son of God, and finally we become one perfect manwith the full dimensions of spiritual maturity and fully developed in the abundance of Christ.

14 And then our immaturity will end! And we will not be easily shaken by trouble, nor led astray by novel teachings or by the false doctrines of deceiverswho teach clever lies. 15 But instead we will remain strong and always sincere in our love as we express the truth. All our direction and ministries will flow from Christ and lead us deeper into him, the anointed Head of his body, the church.

16 For his body has been formed in his image and is closely joined together and constantly connected as one. And every member has been given divine gifts to contribute to the growth of all; and as these gifts operate effectively throughout the whole body, we are built up and made perfect in love. TPT
