RESURRECTION-POWER 11-20-2020

Power is inner strength or ability that does not depend on outward things. Resurrection power is the ability to bring what is dead back to life. Not just in a small way but in a supernatural amazing beyond natural comprehension. Jesus rose people from the dead during his ministry. Even in the old testament people were raised from the dead but there was something unique about Jesus and his resurrection power. One that stood in for many. Because the veil which is symbolic of our access to God was torn in half meaning neither death nor sin nor sickness can separate us from God. The way is wide open. The resurrection of Jesus was not only his body but his spirit and soul. Death was defeated completely.

Matt 27:51 And at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split.

52 The tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep in death were raised [to life];  AMP

Matt 27:51 At that moment, the Temple curtain was ripped in two, top to bottom. There was an earthquake, and rocks were split in pieces.

52 What's more, tombs were opened up, and many bodies of believers asleep in their graves were raised.   MSG

MATT 27:51-52 At that moment the veil in the Holy of Holies was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth shook violently, rocks were split apart,

52 and graves were opened. Then many of the holy ones who had died were brought back to life and came out of their graves.  TPT

Acts 13:33 This He has completely fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second psalm, You are My Son; today I have begotten You [caused You to arise, to be born; formally shown You to be the Messiah by the resurrection].  AMP

Rom 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you. AMP

↕↕↕

Rom 8:11 It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's! MSG

↕↕↕

RO 8:11 Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since Gods Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!TPT

RO 5:10 So if while we were still enemies, God fully reconciledus to himself through the death of his Son, then something greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, and because we share in his resurrection life, how much more we will be rescued from sins dominion! TPT

↕↕↕

Rom 5:10  If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son, now that we're at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life!  MSG

RO 5:12-17 When Adam sinned, the entire world was affected. Sin entered human experience, and death was the result. And so death followed this sin, casting its shadow over all humanity, because all have sinned.

13 Sin was in the world before Moses gave the written law, but it was not charged against them where no law existed.

14 Yet death reignedas king from Adam to Moses even though they hadnt broken a command the way Adam had. The first man, Adam, was a pictureof the Messiah, who was to come.

15 Now, there is no comparison between Adams transgression and the gracious gift that we experience. For the magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime. Its true that many died because of one mans transgression, but how much greater will Gods grace and his gracious gift of acceptance overflowto many because of what one Man, Jesus, the Messiah, did for us!

16 And this free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of Guilty! But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failuresand brings us into the perfect righteousness of Godacquitted with the words Not guilty!

17 Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much moreare we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousnessin the one and only Jesus, the Messiah!   TPT

RO 7:4 So, my dear brothers and sisters, the same principle applies to your relationship with God. For you died to your first husband, the law, by being co-crucified with the body of the Messiah. So you are now free to marry anotherthe one who was raised from the dead so that you may now bear spiritual fruitfor God. TPT

RO 8:15-17 And you did not receive the spirit of religious duty, leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the Spirit of full acceptance, enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, Beloved Father!

16 For the Holy Spirit makes Gods fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, You are Gods beloved child!

17 And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferingsas our own.TPT ↕↕↕

Rom 8:15-17 This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike "What's next, Papa?"

16 God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children.

17 And we know we are going to get what's coming to us an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we're certainly going to go through the good times with him!  MSG

2 Cor 5:15 He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.

16 Because of this decision we don't evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don't look at him that way anymore.

17 Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it!  MSG

Col 3:1 IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. AMP

↕↕↕

Col 3:1  So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. MSG

↕↕↕

COL 3:1  Christs resurrection is your resurrection too. This is why we are to yearn for all that is above, for thats where Christ sits enthroned at the place of all power, honor, and authorityTPT

1 John 4:17 In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world. AMP

Phil 3:8  Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant dog dung. I've dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ

9 and be embraced by him. I didn't want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ God's righteousness.

10 I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself.

11 If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it.  MSG

↕↕↕

PHIL 3:8-11 To truly know him meant letting go of everything from my past and throwing all my boasting on the garbage heap. Its all like a pile of manure to me now, so that I may be enriched in the reality of knowing Jesus Christ and embrace him as Lord in all of his greatness.

My passion is to be consumed with him and not clinging to my own righteousness based in keeping the written Law. My righteousness will be his, based on the faithfulness of Jesus Christthe very righteousness that comes from God.

10 And I continually long to know the wonders of Jesus more fully and to experience the overflowing power of his resurrection working in me. I will be one with him in his sufferings and I will be one with him in his death.

11 Only then will I be able to experience complete oneness with him in his resurrection from the realm of death.  TPT

JN 11:24-26 She replied, Yes, I know he will rise with everyone else on resurrection day.

25 Martha, Jesus said, You dont have to wait until then. I amthe Resurrection, and I am Life Eternal. Anyone who clings to me in faith, even though he dies, will live forever.

26 And the one who lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this? TPT

ACTS 2:29-32 My fellow Jews, I can tell you there is no doubt that our noted patriarch has both died and been buried in his tomb, which remains to this day. So you can see that he was not referring to himself with those words.

30 But as a prophet, he knew Gods faithful promise, made with Gods unbreakable oath, that one of his descendants would take his throne.

31 So when peering into the future, David prophesiedof the Messiahs resurrection. And God revealed to him that the Messiah would not be abandoned to the realm of death, nor would his body experience decay.

32 Cant you see it? God has resurrected Jesus, and we all have seen him! TPT

Rom 1:4 his unique identity as Son of God was shown by the Spirit when Jesus was raised from the dead, setting him apart as the Messiah, our Master.

5 Through him we received both the generous gift of his life and the urgent task of passing it on to others who receive it by entering into obedient trust in Jesus.

6 You are who you are through this gift and call of Jesus Christ!   MSG

Rom 6:4  When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus.

5 Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we're going in our new grace-sovereign country.  MSG

↕↕↕

RO 6:4-5 Sharing in his death by our baptism means that we were co-buried and entombed with him, so that when the Fathers glory raised Christ from the dead, we were also raised with him. We have been co-resurrected with him so that we could be empowered to walk in the freshness of new life.

For since we are permanently grafted into himto experience a death like his, then we are permanently grafted into him to experience a resurrection like his and the new life that it imparts. TPT

JN 6:39-40 My Father who sent me has determined that I will not lose even one of those he has given to me, and I will raise them up in the last day.

40 For the longing of my Father is that everyone who embraces the Sonand believes in him will experience eternal life and I will raise them up in the last day!  TPT

Col 2:12 [Thus you were circumcised when] you were buried with Him in [your] baptism, in which you were also raised with Him [to a new life] through [your] faith in the working of God [as displayed] when He raised Him up from the dead.  AMP

1 Peter 1:3 What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for,

4 including a future in heaven and the future starts now!

5 God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you'll have it all life healed and whole.  MSG
