Repentance means changing your mind, changing your thinking. Repentance is a transformation in thinking that leads to a change in action. Its not a feeling of guilt about sin the opposite of repentance is to have a hard heart that is resistant to change.

Rom 12:2-3 Do not allow current religious traditions to mold you into its pattern of reasoning. Like an inspired artist, give attention to the detail of Gods desire to find expression in you. Become acquainted with the perfection. To accommodate yourself to the delight and good pleasure of him will transform your thoughts of fresh from within.
3 His grace gift inspires me to say to you that youre thinking must be consistent with everything that is within you according to the measure of faith that God has a portioned to every individual. Let the revelation of redemption shape your thoughts. Mirror  ↕↕↕

Rom 12:2-3 Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

3 I'm speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it's important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.  MSG

2 Tim 2:25-26 Your Gentle way of instructing those who oppose you will inevitably lead them to see what God believes concerning them and give them the best possible chance to acknowledge the truth.
26 And so they will escape the intoxicating influence of the fallen mindset and the enslaving dictates of the devil. Mirror

2 TIM 2:25-26 Then with meekness youll be able to carefully enlighten those who argue with you so they can see Gods gracious gift of repentance and be brought to the truth.

Prov 1:23 If you will turn (repent) and give heed to my reproof, behold, I [Wisdom] will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make my words known to you.  AMP

PROV 1:23 Come back to your senses and be restored to reality. Dont even think about refusing my rebuke! Dont you know that Im ready to pour out my spirit of wisdom upon you and bring to you the revelation of my words that will make your heart wise? TPT

Matt 11:20 Then He began to censure and reproach the cities in which most of His mighty works had been performed, because they did not repent [and their hearts were not changed]. AMP

Ex 9:34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain, the hail, and the thunder had ceased, he sinned yet more, and toughened and stiffened his hard heart, he and his servants. 

35 So Pharaoh's heart was strong and obstinate; he would not let the Israelites go, just as the Lord had said by Moses.  AMP

Acts 2:38 And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is to and for you and your children, and to and for all that are far away, [even] to and for as many as the Lord our God invites and bids to come to Himself.  AMP

Ro 2:4-7 Do not underestimate Gods kindness. The wealth of his benevolence and his resolute refusal to let go of us is because he continues to hear the echo of his kindness in us! Thats his patient passion is to shepherd everyone into a radical mind shift.
5 A calloused heart that resist change accumulates cause to self-destruction, while Gods righteous judgment is revealed in broad daylight.
6 By resisting him you are  on your own; your own deeds will judge you.  
7 The quest of mankind is to be constant in that which is good, glorious and honorable and of imperishable value. We are eager to pursue the original blueprint-life of the ages. Mirror

2 Cor 3:16-18. The moment anyone returns to the Lord the veil is gone!
17 The Lord and the Spirit are one; his Lordship sanctions our freedom. A freedom from rules chiseled in stone to the voice of our redeem designed echoing in our hearts! 18 And we are, with new understanding, see ourselves in him as in a mirror. The days of window-shopping are over! In him every face is unveiled. In the gazing with wonder at the blueprint of God displayed in human form, we suddenly realize that we are looking into a mirror, where every feature of his image articulated in Christ is reflected within us! The Spirit of the Lord engineers this radical transformation; we are led from an inferior mindset to the revealed endorsement of our authentic identity.  Mirror

2 Cor  7:10 To anchor one thoughts in Gods thoughts when faced with a difficult or painful experiences, brings escape from sorrow and leaves one with no regrets; but oh, what a dreadful contrast is the world system which adds regret upon sorrow! Where as the one brings such immediate relief, the other seems to be an inescapable death trap! Mirror

Heb 6:1. Consequently, as difficult as it may seem, you want to divorce yourselves from your sentimental attachment to the foreshadowing doctrine of the Messiah, which was designed to carry us like a vessel over the ocean of prophetic dispensation into the completeness of the fulfilled promise. A mine shift from attempts to impress God by your own behavior, to realize the faithfulness of God, is fundamental. There is no life left in the old system. Its dead and gone; you have to move on. 2 PET 3:9 This means that, contrary to mans perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, his delay simply reveals his loving patience toward you, because he does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance. TPT

The Aramaic is quite different and can be translated The Lord does not treat his kingdom like a dutiful chore, as some people consider it, like the treatment of a temporary laborer. But he pours out his Spirit on your behalf, since he does not wish that anyone should perish but that everyone should come into grace.

Acts 3:19 So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;  AMP

Luke 24:47 And that repentance [with a view to and as the condition of] forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. AMP

Luke 24:47 and then a total life-change through the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed in his name to all nations starting from here, from Jerusalem!  MSG

Matt 19:16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, "Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?"

17 So He said to him,  "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."

14 With everything spent and nothing left, he grew hungry, for there was a severe famine in that land.

15 So he begged a farmer in that country to hire him. The farmer hired him and sent him out to feed the pigs.

16 The son was so famished, he was willing to even eat the slop given to the pigs, because no one would feed him a thing.

17 Humiliated, the son finally realized what he was doing and he thought, There are many workers at my fathers house who have all the food they want with plenty to spare. They lack nothing. Why am I here dying of hunger, feeding these pigs and eating their slop?

18 I want to go back home to my fathers house, and Ill say to him, Father, I was wrong. I have sinned against you.

19 Ill never be worthy to be called your son. Please, Father, just treat me like one of your employees.

20 So the young son set off for home. From a long distance away, his father saw him coming, dressed as a beggar, and great compassion swelled up in his heart for his son who was returning home. So the father raced out to meet him. He swept him up in his arms, hugged him dearly, and kissed him over and over with tender love.
