Description: Claudia teaches on Righteousness
RIGHTEOUSNESS GRANTED NOT EARNED
Belongs to God, is God and is of value before Him. It is granted unconditionaly. More than action. It becomes us our position and state of being.Right- wiseness
Isa 64:6For we have all become like one who is unclean [ceremonially, like a leper], andall our righteousness (our best deeds of rightness and justice) is like filthy ragsor a polluted garment; we all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away [far from God's favor, hurrying us toward destruction].
Job 22:3 So what if you were righteous would God Almighty even notice? Evenif you gave a perfect performance, do you think he'd applaud?MSG
Isa 45:8 Let fall in showers, you heavens, from above, and let the skies rain downrighteousness [the pure, spiritual, heaven-born possibilities that have their foundation in the holy being of God];let the earth open, and let them [skies and earth] sprout forth salvation, and letrighteousness germinate and spring up[as plants do] together; I the Lord have created it.AMP
TRYING TO ACHIVE IT BY OUR EFFORTS
LAW-ruleproducing a state approved of God, by the observance of which we are approved of God. The impulse to sin inherent in fallen human nature, or emanating from the power of death, In contrasted the impulse to (right) action emanating from the Spirit. With Spirit given graces which constitute the fruit of the Spirit "there is no law,""the aimof the law is to restrain the evil tendenciesnatural to man in his fallen state, yet in experience law finds itself not merely ineffective, it actually provokes those tendencies to greater activity.
Rom 9:31 Whereas Israel, thoughever in pursuit of a law [for the securing] of righteousness (right standing with God), actually did not succeed in fulfilling the Law.
32 For what reason? Because [they pursued it] not through faith, relying [instead] on the merit of their works[they did not depend on faith buton what they could do]. They have stumbled over the Stumbling Stone. AMP
Rom 10:3 For being ignorant of the righteousness that God ascribes [whichmakes one acceptable to Him in word, thought, and deed] andseeking to establish a righteousness (a means of salvation) of their own, they did not obey or submitthemselves to God's righteousness.
4 For Christ is the end of the Law [the limit at which it ceases to be, for the Law leads up to HimWho is the fulfillment of its types, and in Him the purpose which it was designed to accomplish is fulfilled. That is, the purpose of the Lawis fulfilled in Him] as the means of righteousness (right relationship to God) for everyone who trusts in and adheres to and relies on Him. AMP
REASON FOR THE LAW
Gal 3:21 Is the Law then contrary and opposed to the promises of God? Of course not! For if a Law had been given which could confer [spiritual] life, then righteousness and right standing with God would certainly have come by Law.
22 But the Scriptures[picture all mankind as sinners] shut up and imprisoned by sin, so that [the inheritance, blessing] which was promised through faith in Jesus Christ (the Messiah)might be given (released, delivered, and committed) to [all] those who believe [who adhere to and trust in and rely on Him].
23 Now before the faith came, we were perpetually guarded under the Law, kept in custody in preparation for the faith that was destined to be revealed (unveiled, disclosed),
24 So that theLaw served[to us Jews] as our trainer [our guardian, ourguide to Christ, to lead us] until Christ [came], that wemight be justified (declared righteous, put in right standingwith God) by and through faith. AMP
Gal 3:19 What thenwas the purpose of the Law?It was added [later on, after the promise, todisclose and expose to men their guilt] because of transgressions and[to make men more conscious of the sinfulness] of sin; and it was intended to be in effect until the Seed(the Descendant, the Heir) should come, to and concerning Whom the promise had been made. And it [the Law] was arranged and ordained and appointed through the instrumentality of angels [and was given] by the hand (in the person) of a go-between [Moses, an intermediary person between God and man].AMP
Ro 5:20 But thenLaw came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and exciting opposition].But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God's unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded,
Rom 10:6 Buttrusting God to shape the right living in us is a different story no precarious climb up to heavento recruit the Messiah,
7 no dangerous descent into hellto rescue the Messiah.
8 So what exactly was Moses saying? The word that saves is right here, as near as the tongue in your mouth,as close as the heart in your chest. It's theword of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching.
9 Say the welcoming word to God "Jesus is my Master" embracing, body and soul,God's work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That's it. You're not "doing" anything;you're simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That's salvation.
10 Withyour whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: "God has set everything right between him and me!"
??
Rom 10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart manbelieveth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. KJV
Rom 5:17 For if because ofone man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God's] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and thefree giftof righteousness[putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
18 Well then, as oneman's trespass [one man's false step and falling away led] to condemnation for all men, so oneMan's act of righteousness[leads] to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men.
19 For just as by one man's disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) themany were constituted sinners, so by one Man's obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him).
ABRAHAM
Gal 3:6 Thus Abrahambelieved in and adhered to and trusted in and relied on God, and it was reckonedand placed to his account and credited asrighteousness(as conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action).
7 Know and understand that it is[really] the people [who live] by faith who are [the true] sons of Abraham.
8 And the Scripture, foreseeing thatGod would justify (declare righteous, put in right standing with Himself) the Gentiles in consequence of faith, proclaimed the Gospel [foretelling the glad tidings of a Savior long beforehand] to Abraham in the promise, saying, In you shall all the nations [of the earth] be blessed.AMP
Rom 4:7 Fortunate those whose crimes are carted off, whose sins are wiped clean from the slate.
8 Fortunate the person against whom theLord does not keep score.
9 Do you think for a minute that this blessing is only pronounced over those of us who keep our religious ways and are circumcised? Or do you think it possible that the blessing could begiven to those who never even heard of our ways, who were never brought up in the disciplines of God?We all agree, don't we, that it wasby embracing what God did for him that Abraham was declared fit before God?
10 Now think: Was that declaration made before or after he was marked by the covenant rite of circumcision? That's right, before he was marked.
11 That means thathe underwent circumcision as evidence and confirmation of what God had done long before to bring him into this acceptable standing with himself, an act of God he had embraced with his whole life.
12 And it means further thatAbraham is father of all people who embrace what God does for them while they are still on the "outs" with God, as yet unidentified as God's, in an "uncircumcised" condition. It is precisely these people in this condition who are called "set right by God and with God"!Abraham is also, of course, father of those who have undergone the religious rite of circumcision not just because of the ritual but because they were willing to live in the risky faith-embrace of God's action for them, the wayAbraham lived long before he was marked by circumcision. MSG
Rom 4:3For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed in (trusted in) God, and it was credited to his account as righteousness(right living and right standing with God).
4 Now to a laborer, his wages are not counted as a favor or a gift, but as anobligation (something owed to him).
5 But to one who, not working [by the Law],trusts (believes fully) in Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (the standing acceptable to God).
6 Thus David congratulates the man and pronounces a blessing on him to whomGod credits righteousness apart from the works he does: AMP
Rom 3:21But now the righteousness of God has been revealed independently and altogether apart from the Law, although actually it is attested by the Law and the Prophets,
22 Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ(the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction,
23Since allhave sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.
24 [All] are justifiedand made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitouslyby His grace(His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,AMP
Rom 3:25 Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment.
26 It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time(in the now season) that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has [true] faith in Jesus.AMP
Rom 5:1 THEREFORE, SINCEwe are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [graspthe fact thatwe]have [the peace of reconciliationto hold and to enjoy] peace with Godthrough our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). AMP
Rom 5:9 Therefore, sincewe arenowjustified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ's blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him fromthe indignation and wrath of God.AMP
Rom 8:30 And those whom He thus foreordained, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified (acquitted, made righteous, putting them into right standing with Himself). Andthose whom He justified, He also glorified [raising them to aheavenly dignityand condition or state of being].AMP
Gal 2:20 Christ's life showed me how, and enabled me to do it.I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, andI am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not "mine," but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
21 I am not going to go back on that. Is it not clear to you that to go back to that old rule-keeping, peer-pleasing religion would be an abandonment of everything personal and free in my relationship with God?I refuse to do that, to repudiate God's grace. If a living relationship with God could come by rule-keeping, then Christ died unnecessarily. MSG
1 Cor 6:11 And such some of youwere [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), andyou were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christand in the [Holy] Spirit of our God. AMP
Rom 14:17 [After all]the kingdom of Godis not a matter of [getting the] food and drink [one likes], butinstead it is righteousness(that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.AMP
1 Cor 1:30 But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin]. AMP
2 Cor 5:21 For our sakeHe made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God[what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]. AMP ↕↕↕
2 Cor 5:21 For he hathmade him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousnessof God in him. KJV
1 Peter 2:24 He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that wemight die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.AMP
NATUREEph 4:22 Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off anddiscard your old unrenewed self]which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts anddesires that spring from delusion;
23 And beconstantly renewedin the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],
24 Andput on the new nature(the regenerate self) created in God's image, [Godlike] intrue righteousnessand holiness.AMP
Phil 3:9 And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him,not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedienceto the Law's demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith.AMP
↕↕↕?
Phil 3:9 and be embraced by him. I didn't want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of ruleswhen I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ God's righteousness.
Heb 7:26 For such anhigh priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;KJV
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, theRighteousfor the unrighteous(the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit, AMP
Heb 5:13 For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviouslyinexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness(of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant [not able to talk yet]! AMP
1 Cor 15:34Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. KJV
