WE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED 5-26-19 VIDEO GOD IS ABLE

Defeat-to be conquered, to vanquish, to subdue, to win against someone in a fight. Also it’s an unsuccessful ending to a struggle or contest.

Hebrews 12:2 We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

So consider carefully how Jesus faced such intense opposition from sinners who opposed their own souls, so that you won’t become worn down and cave in under life’s pressures. TPT

Psalm 18:4-5  For when the ropes of death wrapped around me and terrifying torrents of destruction overwhelmed me, taking me to death’s door, to doom’s domain,
I cried out to you in my distress, the delivering God, and from your temple-throne you heard my troubled cry. My sobs came right into your heart
and you turned your face to rescue me.
The earth itself shivered and shook. It reeled and rocked before him. As the mountains trembled, they melted away! For his anger was kindled, burning on my behalf.
Fierce flames leapt from his mouth, erupting with blazing, burning coals as smoke and fire encircled him.
9–10 He stretched heaven’s curtain open and came to my defense. Swiftly he rode to earth as the stormy sky was lowered. He rode a chariot of thunderclouds amidst thick darkness, a cherub his steed as he swooped down, soaring on the wings of Spirit-wind. TPT

Psalm 18:16 He then reached down from heaven, all the way from the sky to the sea. He reached down into my darkness to rescue me! He took me out of my calamity and chaos and drew me to himself, taking me from the depths of my despair!
17 Even though I was helpless in the hands of my hateful, strong enemy, you were good to deliver me.
18 When I was at my weakest, my enemies attacked— but the Lord held on to me.
19 His love broke open the way and he brought me into a beautiful broad place. He rescued me—because his delight is in me! TPT
Heb 2:14 Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it’s logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil’s hold on death

15 and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death.

16 It’s obvious, of course, that he didn’t go to all this trouble for angels. It was for people like us, children of Abraham.

17 That’s why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people’s sins,

18 he would have already experienced it all himself — all the pain, all the testing — and would be able to help where help was needed. MSG

John 10:10 A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. MSG

John 10:10  A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow! TPT

Ps 37:13 The Lord laughs at [the wicked], for He sees that their own day [of defeat] is coming. AMP

2 Tim 1:9 who first saved us and then called us to this holy work. We had nothing to do with it. It was all his idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it.

10 But we know it now. Since the appearance of our Savior, nothing could be plainer: death defeated, life vindicated in a steady blaze of light, all through the work of Jesus. MSG

Romans 8:31 So, what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us?

32 For God has proved his love by giving us his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son. And since God freely offered him up as the sacrifice for us all, he certainly won’t withhold from us anything else he has to give.

33 Who then would dare to accuse those whom God has chosen in love to be his? God himself is the judge who has issued his final verdict over them—“Not guilty!”

34 Who then is left to condemn us? Certainly not Jesus, the Anointed One! For he gave his life for us, and even more than that, he has conquered death and is now risen, exalted, and enthroned by God at his right hand. So how could he possibly condemn us since he is continually praying for our triumph?

35 Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats? No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love,

36 even though it is written: All day long we face death threats for your sake, God.
We are considered to be nothing more than sheep to be slaughtered!

37 Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything

38 So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love.

39 There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One! TPT

JAIL   Acts 16:22 By this time the crowd had turned into a restless mob out for blood. The judges went along with the mob, had Paul and Silas’s clothes ripped off and ordered a public beating.

23 After beating them black and blue, they threw them into jail, telling the jailkeeper to put them under heavy guard so there would be no chance of escape.

James 5:10 Take the old prophets as your mentors. They put up with anything, went through everything, and never once quit, all the time honoring God.

11 What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You’ve heard, of course, of Job’s staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That’s because God cares, cares right down to the last detail. MSG     ↕

Act 16:30 He led them out of the jail and asked, “Sirs, what do I have to do to be saved, to really live?”

31 They said, “Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you’ll live as you were meant to live — and everyone in your house included!” MSG

Phil 1:12 I want to report to you, friends, that my imprisonment here has had the opposite of its intended effect. Instead of being squelched, the Message has actually prospered.

13 All the soldiers here, and everyone else too, found out that I’m in jail because of this Messiah. That piqued their curiosity, and now they’ve learned all about him.

14 Not only that, but most of the Christians here have become far more sure of themselves in the faith than ever, speaking out fearlessly about God, about the Messiah. MSG

Luke 18:1 Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit.

2 He said, “There was once a judge in some city who never gave God a thought and cared nothing for people.

3 A widow in that city kept after him: ‘My rights are being violated. Protect me!’

4 “He never gave her the time of day. But after this went on and on he said to himself, ‘I care nothing what God thinks, even less what people think.

5 But because this widow won’t quit badgering me, I’d better do something and see that she gets justice — otherwise I’m going to end up beaten black and blue by her pounding.'”

6 Then the Master said, “Do you hear what that judge, corrupt as he is, is saying?

7 So what makes you think God won’t step in and work justice for his chosen people, who continue to cry out for help? Won’t he stick up for them?

8 I assure you, he will. He will not drag his feet. But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns?” MSG

Job 5:20 “In famine, he’ll keep you from starving, in war, from being gutted by the sword.

21 You’ll be protected from vicious gossip and live fearless through any catastrophe.

22 You’ll shrug off disaster and famine, and stroll fearlessly among wild animals.

23 You’ll be on good terms with rocks and mountains; wild animals will become your good friends.

24 You’ll know that your place on earth is safe, you’ll look over your goods and find nothing amiss.

25 You’ll see your children grow up, your family lovely and lissome as orchard grass.

26 You’ll arrive at your grave ripe with many good years, like sheaves of golden grain at harvest.

27 “Yes, this is the way things are — my word of honor! Take it to heart and you won’t go wrong.” MSG
