FEAR IS A THEIF

FEAR IS A THEIF  8-28-2020

Fear, afraid to speak out fear of man, following the crowd to be accepted. What are you afraid of? Bill Johnson said “Fear is a thief. It robbed Peter of a perfectly good walk on the water and kept the other 11 disciples in the boat”. Fear will try to rob you of your destiny. Fear can come upon us and causes to tremble and shake. It makes us not able to go forward. It makes us want to hide. Fear can flow through our hearts, minds and emotions like a raging river. It is paralyzing.

MT 14:22 As soon as the people were fed, Jesus told his disciples to get into their boat and to go to the other side of the lake while he stayed behind to dismiss the people.

23 After the crowds dispersed, Jesus went up into the hills to pray. And as night fell he was there praying alone with God.

24 But the disciples, who were now in the middle of the lake, ran into trouble, for their boat was tossed about by the high winds and heavy seas.

25 At about four o’clock in the morning. Jesus came to them, walking on the waves!

26 When the disciples saw him walking on top of the water, they were terrified and screamed, “A ghost!”

27 Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!”

28 Peter shouted out, “Lord, if it’s really you, then have me join you on the water!”

29 “Come and join me,”[ Jesus replied. So Peter stepped out onto the water and began to walk toward Jesus.

30 But when he realized how high the waves were, he became frightened and started to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he cried out.

31 Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and lifted him up and said, “What little faith you have! Why would you let doubt win?”

32 And the very moment they both stepped into the boat, the raging wind ceased. TPT

Job 4:13  It came in a scary dream one night, after I had fallen into a deep, deep sleep.

15 A spirit glided right in front of me — the hair on my head stood on end.

16 I couldn’t tell what it was that appeared there —  a blur . . . and then I heard a muffled voice:

17 “‘How can mere mortals be more righteous than God? How can humans be purer than their Creator?

18 Why, God doesn’t even trust his own servants, doesn’t even cheer his angels,

19 So how much less these bodies composed of mud, fragile as moths?

1 Sam 17:34 David said, “I’ve been a shepherd, tending sheep for my father. Whenever a lion or bear came and took a lamb from the flock,

35 I’d go after it, knock it down, and rescue the lamb. If it turned on me, I’d grab it by the throat, wring its neck, and kill it.

36 Lion or bear, it made no difference — I killed it. And I’ll do the same to this Philistine pig who is taunting the troops of God-Alive.

37 God, who delivered me from the teeth of the lion and the claws of the bear, will deliver me from this Philistine.” Saul said, “Go. And God help you!” MSG
