WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? 12-07-25 VIDEO WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST 2
The number one problem for many people in the church is not knowing their identity in Christ. Let’s start at the beginning. Satan knew Eve was already made to be like God when he tempted her. The devil tried to tempt Jesus asking him if he really is the son of God. Jesus knew who he was. He restored immediately mankind‘s identity and purpose. You are already a new creation. You have purpose.
GEN 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make a man and a woman in our image to be like us. Let them reign over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the livestock, over the creatures that creep along the ground, and over the wild animals.”
27 So God created man and woman and shaped them with his image inside them. In his own beautiful image, he created his masterpiece. Yes, male and female he created them.
28 And God blessed them in his love, saying, “Reproduce and be fruitful! Populate the earth and subdue it! Reign over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every creature that lives on earth.” TPT

LUKE 4:1 And Jesus, fully infused and prompted by Holy Spirit, intentionally turns back, away from the river Jordan into the wilderness and embarks on a forty day fast in order to victoriously face the same diabolic scrutiny that snared humanity in Adam and Eve, and later dramatically displayed in Israel’s forty year detour in the wilderness of their unbelief.
2 When the forty days were concluded, he felt famished, having not taken anything to eat at all.
3 The Devil had an immediate suggestion, “If you really are the son of God, then prove it and do your magic! Tell this stone to become a loaf of bread!”
4 And Jesus answered, “It is written that man shall not live on bread alone.”
5 He then showed him all the kingdom’s of the inhabited world in a split second.
6 And said to him, I will give you the glory and control of all these kingdoms since it was handed over to me and I can do with it whatever I please!
7 It’s all yours if you worship me.
8 Jesus responded with, “Get out of my face Satan! Scripture says, you shall worship the Lord your God with undivided adoration.”
9 Then he led him to Jerusalem and brought him to the wing of the temple and challenged him to cast himself down, if he really is the son of God.
10 It is written, he says, that God would command his celestial messengers to protect you from any harm.
11 They would bear you up on their hands and protect you so that you will not even stumble over a stone.
12 Again, Jesus quoted Deuteronomy and said, you shall not put the Lord your God to the test. Testing is not trusting.
13 This concluded the devil’s scrutiny and he departed until an opportune time. MIRROR

2 COR 5:14 The love of Christ constrains us and resonates within us; leaving us with only one conclusion: when Jesus died, every individual simultaneously died. In God’s logic, one has died for all, thus all have died.
15 Now if all were included in his death they were equally included in his resurrection. This unveiling of his love redefines human life! Whatever reference we could have of ourselves outside of our association with Christ is no longer relevant.
16 Therefore, from now on, I no longer know anyone according to the flesh! I no longer see people from a human point of view! This is a radical and most defining moment! No label that could possibly previously identify someone carries any further significance! Even our pet doctrines of Christ are redefined. Whatever we knew about him historically or sentimentally is challenged by this conclusion.
17 Now, in the light of your co-inclusion in his death and resurrection, whoever you thought you were before, in Christ you are a brand new person! The old ways of seeing yourself and everyone else are over. Acquaint yourself with the new! MIRROR

2 COR 5:21 He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness]. AMP

ROM 6:6 Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life – no longer at sin’s every beck and call! What we believe is this:
7 -8 If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection.
9 We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word.
10 When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us.
MSG

1 PET 2:24 He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing.
25 You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls. MSG

COL 3:10 Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete.
11 Words like Jewish and non-Jewish, religious and irreligious, insider and outsider, uncivilized and uncouth, slave and free, mean nothing. From now on everyone is defined by Christ, everyone is included in Christ. MSG

GAL 2:20 My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, dispensing his life into mine!
21 So that is why I don’t view God’s grace as something peripheral. For if keeping the law could release God’s righteousness to us, then Christ would have died for nothing.

COL 3:17 Let every detail in your lives – words, actions, whatever – be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way. MSG

EPH 1:5 Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!)
6 He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.
7 Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people – free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free!
8 He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need,
9 letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ,
10 a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.
11 It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, MSG

EPH 2:10 We are engineered by his design; he molded and manufactured us in Christ. We are his workmanship, his poetry. We are fully fit to do good, equipped to give attractive evidence of his likeness in us in everything we do. MIRROR

JN 1:12 Everyone who realizes their association in him, convinced that he is their original life and that his name defines them, God gives the assurance that they are indeed his offspring, begotten of him; he sanctions the legitimacy of their sonship. MIRROR

1 PET 2:9 You are proof of the authentic generation; you give testimony to the original idea of the royalty of true priesthood you are a perfect prototype of the mass of the human race. You are the generation of people who exhibit the conclusion of the prophetic, poetic thought of God that has come full circle. You publish the excellence of his elevation and display that your authentic identity has been rescued out of obscurity and brought into his spectacular light! MIRROR

GAL 3:25 But now you have arrived at your destination:
26 By faith in Christ you are in direct relationship with God.
27 Your baptism in Christ was not just washing you up for a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe – Christ’s life, the fulfillment of God’s original promise. MSG

1 COR 6:19 Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary.
20 You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God! TPT

COL 3:3 Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life – even though invisible to spectators – is with Christ in God. He is your life.
4 When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you’ll show up, too – the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ. MSG

ISA 43:4 Since you are cherished and precious in my eyes, and because I love you dearly and want to honor you, I willingly give up nations in exchange for you—a man to save your life. TPT

1 JN 3:1 What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it – we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he’s up to.
2 But friends, that’s exactly who we are: children of God. And that’s only the beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see him – and in seeing him, become like him. MSG

ROM 8:28 That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.
29 God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him.
30 After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun. MSG

ROM 3:24 God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. MSG

REV 1: 6 Who made us a Kingdom, Priests for his Father, forever – and yes, he’s on his way! MSG
