EVIL WITH GOOD 11-24-14
Rom 12:21 Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good. AMP
↕↕↕
Rom 12:21 Don’t let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good. MSG
EVIL-that which causes injury or harm
GOOD- the best

Rom 12:20 But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head. AMP
↕↕↕
Rom 12:20 Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he’s thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness. MSG

Luke 6:27 But I say to you who are listening now to Me: [in order to heed, make it a practice to] love your enemies, treat well (do good to, act nobly toward) those who detest you and pursue you with hatred,
28 Invoke blessings upon and pray for the happiness of those who curse you, implore God’s blessing (favor) upon those who abuse you [who revile, reproach, disparage, and high-handedly misuse you]. AMP

Matt 5:39 But I say to you, Do not resist the evil man [who injures you]; but if anyone strikes you on the right jaw or cheek, turn to him the other one too.
40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your undershirt (tunic), let him have your coat also.
41 And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two [miles].
42 Give to him who keeps on begging from you, and do not turn away from him who would borrow [at interest] from you.
43 You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy;
44 But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike].
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that?
47 And if you greet only your brethren, what more than others are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles (the heathen) do that?
48 You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. AMP
↕↕↕
Matt 5:39 Is that going to get us anywhere? Here’s what I propose: ‘Don’t hit back at all.’ If someone strikes you, stand there and take it.
40 If someone drags you into court and sues for the shirt off your back, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it.
41 And if someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life.
42 No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.
43 “You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’
44 I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer,
45 for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best — the sun to warm and the rain to nourish — to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty.
46 If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that.
47 If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.
48 “In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you. MSG

1 Peter 3:9 Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God — that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection]. AMP
↕↕↕

Job 31:29 If I rejoiced at the destruction of him who hated me or lifted myself up [in malicious triumph] when evil overtook him —

32 The temporary resident has not lodged in the street, but I have opened my door to the wayfaring man — AMP

1 Sam 24:16 When David had finished saying all this, Saul said, “Can this be the voice of my son David?” and he wept in loud sobs.
17 “You’re the one in the right, not me,” he continued. “You’ve heaped good on me; I’ve dumped evil on you.
18 And now you’ve done it again — treated me generously. God put me in your hands and you didn’t kill me.
19 Why? When a man meets his enemy, does he send him down the road with a blessing? May God give you a bonus of blessings for what you’ve done for me today!
20 I know now beyond doubt that you will rule as king. The kingdom of Israel is already in your grasp!
21 Now promise me under God that you will not kill off my family or wipe my name off the books.”
