SEEKING GOD 1-28-19 VIDEO seek first 22

John 5:39 You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me!

40 And still you are not willing [but refuse] to come to Me, so that you might have life. AMP

John 5:39 “You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you’ll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about me!

40 And here I am, standing right before you, and you aren’t willing to receive from me the life you say you want. MSG

Ps 89:6 Search high and low, scan skies and land, you’ll find nothing and no one quite like God. MSG

Matt 22:37 Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’

38 This is the most important, the first on any list. MSG

↓↓↓

Mt 22:37Jesus answered him, “‘Love[a] the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you.

38 This is the great and supreme commandment. Passion

Deut 4:29 But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity) the Lord your God, you will find Him if you [truly] seek Him with all your heart [and mind] and soul and life. AMP

Deut 4:29 But even there, if you seek God, your God, you’ll be able to find him if you’re serious, looking for him with your whole heart and soul. MSG

1 Cor 2:9 This is why the Scriptures say: Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imagine[a]these are the many things God has in store for all his lovers.

10 But God now unveils these profound realities to us by the Spirit.[c] Yes, he has revealed to us his inmost heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who constantly explores all things. Passion

1 Cor 2:9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].

10 Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny].

11 For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

1 Chron 28:9 And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father [have personal knowledge of Him, be acquainted with, and understand Him; appreciate, heed, and cherish Him] and serve Him with a blameless heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts and minds and understands all the wanderings of the thoughts. If you seek Him [inquiring for and of Him and requiring Him as your first and vital necessity] you will find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever! AMP

1 Chron 28:9 “And you, Solomon my son, get to know well your father’s God; serve him with a whole heart and eager mind, for God examines every heart and sees through every motive. If you seek him, he’ll make sure you find him, but if you abandon him, he’ll leave you for good. MSG

1 Chron 16:10 Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

11 Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually! AMP

1 Chron 16:10 Revel in his holy Name, God-seekers, be jubilant!

11 Study God and his strength, seek his presence day and night; MSG

Heb 11:5 Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death; and he was not found, because God had translated him. For even before he was taken to heaven, he received testimony [still on record] that he had pleased and been satisfactory to God.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]. AMP

↓↓↓

Heb 11:5 By an act of faith, Enoch skipped death completely. “They looked all over and couldn’t find him because God had taken him.” We know on the basis of reliable testimony that before he was taken “he pleased God.”

6 It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him. MSG

↓↓↓

Heb 11:5 Faith lifted Enoch from this life and he was taken up into heaven! He never had to experience death; he just disappeared from this world because God promoted him. For before he was translated to the heavenly realm his life had become a pleasure to God. Passion

6 And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God.[a] For we come to God in faith[b] knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him. Passion

Ps 24:5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and for Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your face, [O God of] Jacob. Selah [pause, and think of that]! AMP

↓↓↓

Ps 24:5 They will receive the Lord’s blessing and righteousness given by the Savior-God.
They will stand before God, for they seek the pleasure of God’s face, the God of Jacob. Pause in his presence Passion

Ps 24:7 So wake up, you living gateways! Lift up your heads, you ageless doors of destiny! Welcome the King of Glory, for he is about to come through you.
You ask, “Who is this Glory-King?” The Lord, armed and ready for battle,
the Mighty One, invincible in every way!
Passion

Ps 63:1 God — you’re my God! I can’t get enough of you! I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God, traveling across dry and weary deserts.

2 So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open, drinking in your strength and glory.

3 In your generous love I am really living at last! My lips brim praises like fountains.

4 I bless you every time I take a breath; My arms wave like banners of praise to you. MSG

Ps 63:1 O God of my life, I’m lovesick for you in this weary wilderness. I thirst with the deepest longings to love you more, with cravings in my heart that can’t be described. Such yearning grips my soul for you, my God!
I’m energized every time I enter your heavenly sanctuary to seek more of your power and drink in more of your glory.
For your tender mercies mean more to me than life itself. How I love and praise you, God!
Daily I will worship you passionately and with all my heart. My arms will wave to you like banners of praise. Passion

Ps 105:4 Seek more of his strength! Seek more of him! Let’s always be seeking the light of his face.
Don’t you ever forget his miracles and marvels. Hold to your heart every judgment he has decreed. Passion

Rom 8:5 Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them — living and breathing God!

6 Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life.

7 Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing.

8 And God isn’t pleased at being ignored.

9 But if God himself has taken up residence in your life, you can hardly be thinking more of yourself than of him. Anyone, of course, who has not welcomed this invisible but clearly present God, the Spirit of Christ, won’t know what we’re talking about.

10 But for you who welcome him, in whom he dwells — even though you still experience all the limitations of sin — you yourself experience life on God’s terms.

11 It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s! MSG

Ps 34:10 Young lions on the prowl get hungry, but God-seekers are full of God.

MSG ↓↓↓

Ps 34:10 Even the strong and the wealthy[a] grow weak and hungry, but those who passionately pursue the Lord will never lack any good thing. Passion

Matt 7:7 Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.

8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.

↓↓↓

Mt 7:7 Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.

For every persistent one will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door. Passion

Amos 5:14 Seek good and not evil — and live! You talk about God, the God-of-the-Angel-Armies, being your best friend. Well, live like it, and maybe it will happen. MSG

Acts 17:27 so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; he’s near. MSG
