3 What we read in Scripture is, “Abraham entered into what God was doing for him, and that was the turning point. He trusted God to set him right instead of trying to be right on his own.”

4 If you’re a hard worker and do a good job, you deserve your pay; we don’t call your wages a gift.

5 But if you see that the job is too big for you, that it’s something only God can do, and you trust him to do it — you could never do it for yourself no matter how hard and long you worked — well, that trusting-him-to-do-it is what gets you set right with God, by God. Sheer gift. MSG

The Bible is filled with details of real victories. Circumstances that changed supernaturally only because the Lord intervened. Let us be like David and rehearse the victories. We do this we can expect the Lord to do the same thing in our lives now! Victory means to be victorious to conquer to overcome the enemy to vanquish a foe. For our nation read stories about George Washington Crossing the Delaware river, a great testimony.

George Washington told the army if you were not fighting—go to Divine Services implore blessings from heaven for our safety and defense.

1 Sam 17:33 Saul answered David, “You can’t go and fight this Philistine. You’re too young and inexperienced — and he’s been at this fighting business since before you were born.”

34 David said, “I’ve been a shepherd, tending sheep for my father. Whenever a lion or bear came and took a lamb from the flock,

35 I’d go after it, knock it down, and rescue the lamb. If it turned on me, I’d grab it by the throat, wring its neck, and kill it.

1 Chron 18:6 David set up a puppet government in Aram-Damascus. The Arameans became subjects of David and were forced to bring tribute. God gave victory to David wherever he marched. MSG

 

Josh 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation took vengeance upon their enemies. Is not this written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

Isa 30:18 And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. Isa 30:18 But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you.

He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right — everything. Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones.

19 Oh yes, people of Zion, citizens of Jerusalem, your time of tears is over. Cry for help and you’ll find it’s grace and more grace. The moment he hears, he’ll answer.

Celebrating the success of the cross

1 JN 5:4 You see, every child of God overcomes the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world. TPT

HEB 11: 5 Faith lifted Enoch from this life and he was taken up into heaven! He never had to experience death; he just disappeared from this world because God promoted him. For before he was translated to the heavenly realm his life had become a pleasure to God.

And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him.

Faith opened Noah’s heart to receive revelation and warnings from God about what was coming, even things that had never been seen. But he stepped out in reverent obedience to God and built an ark that would save him and his family. By his faith the world was condemned, but Noah received God’s gift of righteousness that comes by believing. Faith of the Patriarchs

Faith motivated Abraham to obey God’s call and leave the familiar to discover the territory he was destined to inherit from God. So he left with only a promise and without even knowing ahead of time where he was going, Abraham stepped out in faith.

9  He lived by faith as an immigrant in his promised land as though it belonged to someone else. He journeyed through the land living in tents with Isaac and Jacob who were persuaded that they were also co-heirs of the same promise.

10 His eyes of faith were set on the city with unshakable foundations, whose architect and builder is God himself.

11 Sarah’s faith embraced the miracle power to conceive even though she was barren and was past the age of childbearing, for the authority of her faith rested in the One who made the promise, and she tapped into his faithfulness.TPT

 

HEB 11:17 Faith operated powerfully in Abraham for when he was put to the test he offered up Isaac. Even though he received God’s promises of descendants, he was willing to offer up his only son!

18 For God had promised, “Through your son Isaac your lineage will carry on your name.”

19 Abraham’s faith made it logical to him that God could raise Isaac from the dead, and symbolically, that’s exactly what happened.

20 The power of faith prompted Isaac to impart a blessing to his sons, Jacob and Esau, concerning their prophetic destinies.

21 Jacob worshiped in faith’s reality at the end of his life, and leaning upon his staff he imparted a prophetic blessing upon each of Joseph’s sons.

22 Faith inspired Joseph and opened his eyes to see into the future, for as he was dying he prophesied about the exodus of Israel out of Egypt, and gave instructions that his bones were to be taken from Egypt with them.

23 Faith prompted the parents of Moses at his birth to hide him for three months, because they realized their child was exceptional and they refused to be afraid of the king’s edict.

24 Faith enabled Moses to choose God’s will, for although he was raised as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, he refused to make that his identity,

25 choosing instead to suffer mistreatment with the people of God. Moses preferred faith’s certainty above the momentary enjoyment of sin’s pleasures. 26 He found his true wealth in suffering abuse for being anointed, more than in anything the world could offer him, for his eyes looked with wonder not on the immediate, but on the ultimate—faith’s great reward!

27 Holding faith’s promise Moses abandoned Egypt and had no fear of Pharaoh’s rage because he persisted in faith as if he had seen God who is unseen.

28 Faith stirred Moses to perform the rite of Passover and sprinkle lamb’s blood, to prevent the destroyer from harming their firstborn.

29 Faith opened the way for the Hebrews to cross the Red Sea as if on dry land, but when the Egyptians tried to cross they were swallowed up and drowned!

Jericho and Rahab

30 Faith pulled down Jericho’s walls after the people marched around them for seven days!

31 Faith provided a way of escape for Rahab the prostitute, avoiding the destruction of the unbelievers, because she received the Hebrew spies in peace.

32 And what more could I say to convince you? For there is not enough time to tell you of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets.

33 Through faith’s power they conquered kingdoms and established true justice. Their faith fastened onto their promises and pulled them into reality! It was faith that shut the mouth of lions, TPT

 

HEB 11:39 These were the true heroes, commended for their faith, yet they lived in hope without receiving the fullness of what was promised them.

Being offended usually means that you assume certain motives of the part of the offender. Then you have a reaction to what happened as something that should have been prevented. It is the opposite of forgiveness. Being offended usually is a secret you hold in your heart against someone but pretend on the outside all is well. And the offence is a hindrance or a road to move forward. Offense leads to bitterness. Bitterness takes a root. And since branches feed from the root, every branch can be affected. It affects a person physically who has bitterness. It causes the heart to become hardened. Jesus called being offended desertion, falling away.

When someone is offended with you, they punish you, maybe ignoring you and not talking to you. It is impossible to love the Lord with your whole heart if

you are mad or offended with him. Jesus is called a rock of offense.

Those very people  who were upset and hated him could never receive from him or be set free in their lives. The woman who committed adultery. The Pharisees wanted to stone her. They were offended. Jesus being that rock of offense could have stoned her but he released her.

 

Prov 18:19 A brother offended is harder to be won over than a strong city, and [their] contentions separate them like the bars of a castle. AMP

PROV 18:19 It is easier to conquer a strong city than to win back a friend whom you’ve offended. Their walls go up, making it nearly impossible to win them back. TPT

 

Prov 17:9 He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends. AMP

John 16:1 I HAVE told you all these things, so that you should not be offended (taken unawares and falter, or be caused to stumble and fall away). [I told you to keep you from being scandalized and repelled.] AMP

Rom 5:15 The only similarity in the comparison between the offence and the gift, is it both Adam and Christ represent the masses; they’re single accusation therefore bears global consequence. The idea of death and separation that was introduced by one man’s transgression is by far superseded by the Grace gift lavished upon mankind in the one man Jesus Christ.

16 The difference between two men is further emphasized in the judgment and condemnation followed by a single offense. Where as the free gift of acquittal and righteousness follows innumerable sins.

17 If spiritual death saw the gap in one sin, and grab the opportunity to dominate mankind because of one man, how much more may we now sees the advantage to reign in righteousness in this light through the one act of Christ, who declared his innocent by his Grace. JN 8:3 Then in the middle of his teaching, the religious scholars and the Pharisees broke through the crowd and brought a woman who had been caught in the act of committing adultery and made her stand in the middle of everyone.

Then they said to Jesus, “Teacher, we caught this woman in the very act of adultery.

Doesn’t Moses’ law command us to stone to death a woman like this? Tell us, what do you say we should do with her?”

They were only testing Jesus because they hoped to trap him with his own words and accuse him of breaking the laws of Moses. But Jesus didn’t answer them. Instead he simply bent down and wrote in the dust with his finger.

Angry, they kept insisting that he answer their question, so Jesus stood up and looked at them and said, “Let’s have the man who has never had a sinful desire throw the first stone at her.”

And then he bent over again and wrote some more words in the dust.

Upon hearing that, her accusers slowly left the crowd one at a time, beginning with the oldest to the youngest, with a convicted conscience.

10 Until finally, Jesus was left alone with the woman still standing there in front of him. So he stood back up and said to her, “Dear woman, where are your accusers? Is there no one here to condemn you?”

11 Looking around, she replied, “I see no one, Lord.” Jesus said, “Then I certainly don’t condemn you either. Go, and from now on, be free from a life of sin. TPT

As we consider different weapons to use in the spirit against the enemy, let’s consider gratitude. A powerful weapon in times of overwhelming circumstances. Gratitude means thanks and appreciation. It’s a feeling you get when you recognize someone who is been so good to you. It’s not in difference but it spontaneously emerges from within. It is also a choice. Gratitude means to open your mouth and give thanks. We know that this is the new year and time to open up your mouth. So that your mouth is filled with thanksgiving. We give thanks from a grateful heart.

On Pentecost those waiting were filled with power. They were filled with the manifest presence of God. He came upon them and filed them and never left them. There’s a difference between God being everywhere and God‘s manifest presence being upon us. The result of the manifest presence of God in the lives of the disciples was the power to turn the whole world upside down. Manifest presence of God in his presence is where he reveals himself as one with the personality and feelings. Gods manifest power reveals God to us in a tangible way. Jesus was the manifest presence of God during his ministry on earth. When God manifest his presence he reveals his glory. He doesn’t just want us to know about him but to experience him. His manifest presence changes us. It changes our motives. When we meet with God something changes in us.

Paul saw Jesus on the Damascus Road it was forever changed. And yet he still pressed in for more of the manifest presence of God. It leaves you hungry for more it gives you the power to change circumstances. The manifest presence of God in the Old Testament kind of came and went. When the Holy Spirit was given he became the manifest power of God in us. Because he is God. And he remains with us forever. The manifest presence of God the power of the Holy Spirit is for us and for our children.

 

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us].   AMP

“Immanu El (“God became one of us,” A new nature is about to be planted in the soil of humanity. Immanuel is a term used for this new creation life coming down out of heaven. It will begin as a man but will soon become a company of men and women. Immanuel is the partnership of heaven and earth, God and humanity.

John 1:1 IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. AMP

Ex 33:12 Moses said to God, “Look, you tell me, ‘Lead this people,’ but you don’t let me know whom you’re going to send with me. You tell me, ‘I know you well and you are special to me.’

22 When my Glory passes by, I’ll put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with my hand until I’ve passed by.

34 Let Pharaoh do this; then let him select and appoint officers over the land, and take one-fifth [of the produce] of the [whole] land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years [year by year].

35 And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming and lay up grain under the direction and authority of Pharaoh, and let them retain food [in fortified granaries] in the cities.

Acts 11:25  Barnabas left for Tarsus to find Saul and bring him back to Antioch. 26 Together Saul and Barnabas ministered there for a full year, equipping the growing church and teaching the vast number of new converts. In the midst of all that is going on in our nation, the body of Christ, and in the world, the best we can be these days is to be imitators of Christ. Imitate means to follow to behave like someone to have the same behavior. When Jesus called the disciples to follow him he did not mean they were to go where he went but called them to be like him in the world. The government or the kingdom that Jesus invited us to was to have authority over storms. Everyone is welcome to answer the call and be an imitator of Jesus. The big difference in following doctrines of men and imitating Jesus is a difference between religion and relationship we are not imitators of the world but imitators of Jesus.

Eph 5:1 THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].

2 And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. AMP

23 Such [practices] have indeed the outward appearance [that popularly passes] for wisdom, in promoting self-imposed rigor of devotion and delight in self-humiliation and severity of discipline of the body, but they are of no value in checking the indulgence of the flesh (the lower nature). [Instead, they do not honor God but serve only to indulge the flesh.] AMP

COL 2:18  Don’t let anyone disqualify you from your prize! Don’t let their pretended sincerity fool you as they deliberately lead you into their initiation of angel worship. For they take pleasure in pretending to be experts of something they know nothing about. Their reasoning is meaningless and comes only from their own opinions.

19 They refuse to take hold of the true source. But we receive directly from him, and his life supplies vitality into every part of his body through the joining ligaments connecting us all as one. He is the divine Head who guides his body and causes it to grow by the supernatural power of God.

20 For you were included in the death of Christ and have died with him to the religious system and powers of this world. Don’t retreat back to being bullied by the standards and opinions of religion—

21 for example, their strict requirements, “You can’t associate with that person!” or, “Don’t eat that!” or, “You can’t touch that!”

22 These are the doctrines of men and corrupt customs that are worthless to help you spiritually.

23 For though they may appear to possess the promise of wisdom in their submission to God through the deprivation of their physical bodies, it is actually nothing more than empty rules rooted in religious rituals! TPT

Col 2:18 So do not let anyone who tries to act as an umpire for your devotion insist on his own opinion, confined to a mind inflated by the sensational and spooky; his so-called visions are just a puff of hot air.

19 Such Religious jargon is completely out of rhythm with the head. You are directly connected to Christ was like a choir conductor draws out the music and everyone like a tapestry of art that intertwines in harmony to reveal the full stature of the divine inspiration.

20 If It is true that you were included in Christ death, then the religious system of this world with its rules and regulations no longer apply to you. What further relevance would there be for you to continue to live under the influence of man’s doctrines and ideas?

21 Things like; “do not associate with this one!” or  “do not taste that!” And  “do not even touch this with your finger!“

  1. Religious tradition appears to be very devout and its followers seem to be so humble and holy in their strict observance of rules that seek to control the behavior of the body. The only problem with this is it the flesh is never permanently satisfied. Mirror
