Now means at this present time or moment. It means at this present time or moment. It’s intense (do it now!) Can’t be put off or deleted. What we do now effects our future.
Eccl 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. 2 Cor 3:17 They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We’re free of it! MSG

2 Cor 5:16 Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore.

Luke 14:26 “Anyone who comes to me but refuses to let go of father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters — yes, even one’s own self! — can’t be my disciple. MSG

Rom 11:7 And then what happened? Well, when Israel tried to be right with God on her own, pursuing her own self-interest, she didn’t succeed. The chosen ones of God were those who let God pursue his interest in them, and as a result received his stamp of legitimacy. The “self-interest Israel” became thick-skinned toward God. MSG

Rom 9:32 How could they miss it? Because instead of trusting God, they took over. They were absorbed in what they themselves were doing. They were so absorbed in their “God projects” that they didn’t notice God right in front of them, like a huge rock in the middle of the road. And so they stumbled into him and went sprawling. MSG

Rom 14:23 But if you’re not sure, if you notice that you are acting in ways inconsistent with what you believe — some days trying to impose your opinions on others, other days just trying to please them — then you know that you’re out of line. If the way you live isn’t consistent with what you believe, then it’s wrong. MSG

Rom 8:6 Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life.
7 Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing.

16-17 Like a will that takes effect when someone dies, the new covenant was put into action at Jesus’ death. His death marked the transition from the old plan to the new one, canceling the old obligations and accompanying sins, and summoning the heirs to receive the eternal inheritance that was promised them. David- talked to God with his whole heart. God hears when we talk. Jesus-taught prayer-gave our Father (His Words were important but it was his heart-His relationship with the Father that made His conversations important. Prayer is keeping watch- a vigil at times it is standing with someone thru their toughest hour or standing in the gap for them.

It was a custom for a prophet to withdraw to the high places look into the distance (withdraw from the cares of the world) write what he saw clearly & plainly. Prophecy is to be laid to the heart because of its importance not merely for the present but for the future. Wait for it though it tarry! True prophecy is inspired by an impulse it will fulfill itself. It will not fail. It will arrive.
